Martha J. Martinez, M.A.

Practice Description:

Martha Jimenez Martinez was born and raised in Mexico. She completed her undergraduate education in Psychology at the University of Monterrey.  In 1975 she moved to San Antonio, received training and conducted STEP parent education groups while raising three sons who taught her first hand about parenting. She received a master’s degree in counseling with specialization in marriage and family therapy from St. Mary’s University. She is a licensed LMFT in the state of Texas.

She has worked at the Marriage and Family Institute since 1999. And at St. Anthony Catholic Elementary School as a therapist since 2000, providing consultation, mediation, and therapy services including education on bullying, social skills, respect, and responsibility.

The primary focus of her career is parenting education.  She believes that parenting is the most important job of anyone who becomes a parent. Unfortunately it is a job for which there is no required training.  She has committed herself to train parents in her community.

Martha is excited to begin a new volunteer commitment with GivingMore.org which is a non-profit organization that exists to do medical mission work in the most needed areas of Latin America.
