Mary Pat Bone (President)
After studying for her master’s degree at Incarnate Word University, Mary Pat became a Literacy Teacher at Edgewood ISD in San Antonio. She currently is a Campus Reading Specialist for Richardson Texas ISD in Dallas, Texas. Mary Pat has been actively involved with the Inner City Development, La Clinica Amistad, and Habitat for Humanity. Her hobbies are reading, playing golf with her husband, and sharing time with friends. She has served as President of the Marriage and Family Institute since 1989.
Jean Durel, CCVI, Ph.D (Secretary)
Jean is an Incarnate Word sister with a background in education and social justice ministry. Currently she teaches yoga and is involved in social justice work for her community. Jean has a B.A. in Science and Math from The University of the Incarnate Word, a M.S.T. in Chemistry from Cornell University, a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona, and a M.M. in Peace and Justice from Seattle University. Jean has been on the board of the Marriage and Family Institute since 1989. She currently serves as the secretary of the board.
Rod Radle, MSW (Vice President)
Rod Radle holds a Master in Social Work degree from Our Lady of the Lake University. His past work experience includes administrative positions as Executive Director of the San Antonio Alternative Housing Corporation (developing workforce housing), La Clinica Amistad (providing medical services for limited income families), the Transitional Living Facility at the San Antonio State Hospital (transitional long-term hospital residents into community homes) and the School of the Future Program at the SA Independent School District (providing therapy, adult education and family support services for limited income families through neighborhood schools). He has 12 years experience providing family therapy through private practice, and has served as Co-Executive Director with his wife for the Inner City Development, Inc. for the past 43 years. He was the consultant to the Institute on its initiation. He has served as a Board Member for the Marriage and Family Institute since 1987 for the years.
Larry Starkey (Treasurer)
Larry is a retired school teacher of 30 years from South San High School. He also serves as the Treasurer of Inner City Development, a nonprofit, community based organization on the near Westside of San Antonio, having been involved with the organization since 1974. Larry has served as treasurer of The Marriage and Family Institute since 1988.
